This session will be held at Primal This is how I attempt to explain the core principles of training. Our MMA training focuses on the whole game, from standup to ground. Naturally, within a single afternoon I couldn’t include every detail, every piece of equipment, or every permutation of the many drills I introduce here. I make every effort to communicate the concept of how training is broken down so that each fight can be dealt with individually via technical drills, fighting drills, and conditional fighting. I show you how snapshots can be reassembled to recreate different aspects of the fight. This DVD can be taken and used as a guide.
I want to inspire you to train in a way that doesn’t rely on rote learning of technique, or on the separation of technique from application. You will get the inside scoop on how to train as an individual or as a group. From Dan and Kish (16 years old) to myself (64 years), this session covers a wide range of ages. There are some older guys in the group, as well as myself. There are also female members. There are also women in the group. But everyone is doing the exact same training. This is possible for everyone. This DVD is not intended to be an example of what a typical person might do. Primal session, because that’s just a hard four hour workout, sometimes with a specific focus, in which the core group already knows what they’re doing and I don’t need to explain a lot. I created this video for people who are unfamiliar with this approach. I tried my best to give as much information as I could, but I didn’t want to lecture. This is a very informal film. ‘doing’ video.
There are also ways that you can improve the attributes that you have to lose. This DVD focuses on certain key principles. These principles are related to movement, such as the use of the head, rhythm, timing and how to increase power development and penetration through dynamic pressure. There is also a large element of training psychology that incorporates positive methods of beasting as well as other drills that address psychological issues.-Physical and physiological characteristics necessary for fighting with. This DVD will help you take your training to the next level.

It’s suitable for those already training in MMA, but equally suitable for those looking to make the transition from a traditional art into MMA. I give you everything you need to do that, and once you’ve understood the way I organize the training, you can make progress very rapidly. This training structure is coherent and cohesive. It can be used for instructors as well. I encourage experimentation and progression in fight training.
